You don’t have to go to the grocery store or clean out your cabinets to help your local food pantry. The $1.49 you spend on a can of corn can purchase nearly 7 cans when we purchase from Gleaners in bulk. When you make a monetary donation to the food pantry, the meals we are able to provide are actual meals. When we purchase food in bulk, we buy items to allow a family to make and share a meal together. When buying from Gleaners, we’re able to purchase items for a well-balanced meal, at a far lower cost than retail. With the money that you donate to the Rush County Community Assistance Food Pantry, we're able to buy 9 times what you can purchase at the store!
Nutrition counts! By making a monetary donation to the food pantry, we are able to provide food with a higher nutritional value. Low sodium vegetables; fruit packed in juice, rather than syrup; tuna packed in water, not oil. This way, we can feed the hungry without the hassle of having to inspect donated goods. Every donated item that comes to our food pantry has to be inspected for damage and dates, sorted into bins, inventoried and stored. Rather than spending our time inspecting donated goods, we will be able to supply our families with nutritional, in-date items in a time-effective manner. We hope you please consider making a monetary donation to the Rush County Community Assistance Food Pantry so that we are able to purchase items that people want, rather than distributing what they don't. Our pantry understands hunger relief needs, and with your help, we can help assist families in Rush County who may struggle with hunger.
